BRE Friday Communicator

image (3)This is a picture of our flag that was signed for Earth Day.  All students had to take a pledge to take care of and protect our earth.  This flag is now on its way to Earth Day Canada headquarters in Ottawa.  There, flags from lots of different groups and elementary schools across Canada, will be stitched together and will make one GIGANTIC flag.  This flag will then be presented, on behalf of Canada’s youth, to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris this summer!  Way to go Brackendale! Reduce! Reuse!  Recycle!

Thank you to our volunteer  moms, Shelby Lundstrom, Kaila Jarvis and Heather Teasell IMG_2567 (2)for coordinating the Brackendale Elementary Gardening Club. Our moms  bring their inspiration, expertise, energy and tools to school once a week during lunch break and guide our students in beautifying the entrance to BES. Then they continue working long after students return to class. May 13 was the second week of the club work. Cleaning up the flower and shrub beds is in progress. The Gardening Club is looking forward to adding more soil and putting in low maintenance plants sometime in June. Our entrance is looking more welcoming already! Mrs. Galloway, acting Principal
