District Track and Field Meet – May 28 and 29 from 3:30 – 6pm.  Students in Grades 4 – 6 sign up in the front hall.  We are in need of parent volunteers – please contact the office if you can help.

Don Ross Grade 6 Family BBQ – Wednesday, May 29th from 5-7pm – next year’s Grade 7’s and their families are welcome to attend this informal gathering.

Sports Day Postponed

Because of the threat of high winds and rain for tomorrow we have decided to postpone Sports Day.

Don’t forget the PAC Meeting on Wednesday, May 15th at 7pm!

Sports Day will be the morning of FRIDAY, MAY 17TH – students will know their colour team early next week.  Parents are welcome to come and watch.

BRE’s Spring Book fair saw a great turn out this year!  A big shout out goes to the many parent volunteers and the parent volunteer coordinators, Heather Teasell and Camilla Graham.  Of course, a big thank you also goes out to family members, students and friends that made purchases totaling $4994.99 in net sales!  We will receive 25% of this total to purchase library materials.  Thank you for supporting literacy!

Parent Advisory Council (PAC)

Annual General Meeting & Elections

Wednesday May 15th, 2019 7:00 pm 

Mark your calendars, the BES Annual General Meeting and PAC Elections for the 2019/2020 school year will be held on Wednesday May 15th in the Library at 7pm.  Free babysitting is provided. All parents are members of the PAC, so please come see what it’s all about and help to make a difference in your child’s school!   Executive terms are for one year starting June 1st, 2019.  As per the BES Constitution Bylaws, nominations can be made anytime between now and the AGM itself.  Position details are available on our PAC board in the school foyer or interested parents can contact Tricia Duncan at trishduncan@hotmail.com for more information.

Immunization Clinics at Squamish Community Health

There are some extra evening and weekend clinics with lots of openings for any school aged children to get vaccines done at the health unit.

For Kindergarten shots we also have the Children’s Health Fair at Brennan Park on Saturday May 25th – booked appointments.

All appointments should be booked and any records we don’t have can be sent to us ahead of time.  Just call the health unit at 604-892-2293 for support!

Reading Link Challenge

Congratulations to our Brackendale Bears Reading Link Challenge Team for their excellent performance at the competition on Monday evening!  The team was excited to be there and worked well together.  Thanks to Ms. Mah for working with the team to prepare them for the competition and to Kate Inman from the Public Library for making it all happen.

Spring Theme Baskets

All classes have been given a ‘theme’ for the gift basket fundraiser. Please bring a donation to contribute to your class basket by this Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

Raffle tickets for the gift baskets will be on sale after school on Wednesday, April 24th and at the Hollywood Glam Dance at Brackendale Elementary on the night of Friday, April 26th.
