Dear Brackendale Families,
The entire staff at Brackendale Elementary School would like to wish you and your family all the best this holiday season.
As we head into the holidays and hope for a brighter year ahead, I would like to thank you and our students for your tremendous support during this unusual, challenging year. While we have missed some of our traditional gatherings, we are proud of our resilience and accomplishments. We began the school year with a live streamed Indigenous Welcome Ceremony, produced a Virtual Remembrance Day Ceremony that reached 1100 viewers around the globe, wrote 296 cards and letters to seniors in Squamish who may be alone this holiday, raised a record breaking $2,236.75 plus a van full of new toys for Squamish Community Christmas Care, learned some new Hip Hop dance moves with future Olympian Jaymee Hizon, enjoyed an outdoor, extreme distanced, sing-a-long with Ms. Moo and created many, many handmade crafts and gifts to share with our families.
Brackendale Elementary is a special place that is very dear to my heart. I am very proud of our students who have done wonderfully with respect to the new expectations. It is my hope that we all commit to protecting ourselves and each other through the holidays.
This week’s BRE Friday Communicator is full of inspiration from our students for your family to enjoy. Of interest is the slide show featuring Holiday Traditions Re-imagined because we can't gather in person this year.
Sincerely,
Ms. K. Saenger
